When in doubt, add more wine.

Hello!! Sorry about being MIA yesterday, I really wanted to post but, unfortunately, I was feeling a little under the weather - actually, I was looking a little like this....

I went to the doctor today and got some meds - so things should start looking up - hopefully my husband can avoid the nasty bug.

Moving on.......

Last Sunday my Mom, Husband and I went to our favorite flea market - I love digging around for old items that can be re-purposed.  I stumbled upon some awesome, old, wooden milk crates and immediately I thought- WINE RACK!!! My husband and I are huge wine drinkers - we actually went to Napa on our honeymoon, just so we could drink wine for 10 days straight. :)  Doug, my husband, didn't think the wine bottles would fit, so after pushing out my bottom lip a little I put the crate back.  I was so upset, I thought for sure I had come up with the singled handily best. idea. ever. Once we got home I ran to our book shelf that stores the wine.. yes, a bookshelf - here is proof -

(fancy, right)
and I grabbed a bottle and I said - see Doug, they WOULD fit.  He agreed with me!! Let me say that again - My. husband. agreed. with. me. WOW!!! :)
That wonderful little flea market is only open on Sundays - so yesterday since I wasn't feeling good Doug went back to the flea market and bought six!! I am so excited.
We are going to turn this -

into this -

We might add some stain to them, I'm not sure yet, I kind of like the old rustic look - what do you think?

Have you ever re-purposed something old into something new and fabulous??

Happy Monday!

  1. oh.my.gosh. i love this!! i've painted and re-upholstered chairs and re-purposed a book shelf. I would LOVE to do more of this and is something I may include in my blog when I talk about thrifting in the future (I got the items I mentioned above at a thrift shop a couple years ago)!

  3. Neat! What a great idea! I found an egg crate that I have no idea what I'm going to do with it. You seem to have great ideas, so if you have any, let this girl know!
